KISS

So today for my birthday present to myself I went and saw KISS at the rose garden.

Matt and I got at the Rose Garden a little early and desided to stand around outside of the lines because the lines were long and wanted them to die down as soon as they opened the doors. Well standing around kind of confused some people, we got asked if we were selling tickets a few times and also asked if we were selling pot or if we knew where they could get some. To all there dismay we rejected them. Finally around 6:30 they opened the doors and the madness began. First we had to find the restroom because Matt forgot to go before we left the house and he had been holding it for the last two hours. Then we went out looking for TShirts, lots of crazy people there with face paint that didnt even match the KISS band. We were walking around and BAM right behind us were four girls in leather dressed up very similar to KISS with a group of guys asking to have there picture taken with them. I would have asked too but it wouldnt be very clean to have it on this blog so we left and finished our quest for the shirts.

When we got our shirts we went and took our seats in the 122 section row T chair 11&12. Not the best seats in the house but certainly not the worst.

The opening band was named BuckCherry. Never herd of them

There music consisted of just noise really. Now I am one for the obnoxious noise and crazy antics but these people were just ridiculous. I thought that they would sing one or two songs but no the main singer started off with a shirt and after two songs took it off and started jumping around in his tight leather pants playing the tambourine. Sometimes he got close enough to the edge that he should have fell off. Well long story short one of the guitarists got in a small fight with one of the crowd members and he slightly mooned the viewer. After about an hour they got off and had a 30 min intermission.

Came back to our seats with this as the new stage. Finally the time is about to arrive.

With a few opening explosions KISS had finally arrived. (If you blow up the picture it is actually a really good one)

Well that is all the pictures that are good enough to post. So they started off with a few of there classic songs then some off there new album. Gene few up to the rafters and sang for us as well. The concert ended with about 2 hours of KISS music and explosions. Then came time for the Encore. they came back and played a 30 min encore in which Paul got on a zip line thing and few into the middle of the arena and sang. Then he got back and yelled at a guy in the section above us for bringing a laser pointer to the show. His words i will not repeat.

The night was a great night, one that i wont forget. KISS, explosions, people lighting up inside the Rose Garden, and just good old clean fun. I make a quick video but it wont let me post it so if you want to see it send me an email and i will send it your way.

A Move

Once again I left. But this time im not that far away, and I have no job. Not to get me down though im searching through the Internet looking. You might be surprised what is offered here in Portland. Of course most of the jobs that are available i do not qualify for such as managerial positions and places that require minimum amounts of experience in certain aspects of the job. Witch brings me to the question how do you get experience if they need experience? Good question. Some how it all works in the end.

So today I spent it on line looking for a job. Came across a few likely possibility's mainly Albertsons and Jack In the Crack I mean Jack In the Box. Then realised that I have no food in this apartment and decided to go shopping. $160 later i find myself stalked for a long while. That is until my brother comes down on a visit and eats my winter hoardings away.

So i came home and put my expiring meat in the fridge (it was cheap okay?) and sat down to watch some T.V. Well nothing was on so I got up and cooked the meat and had rubbery meat and a burrito for dinner. Yum.

After my lovely meal I felt the need to go on a excursion to walk off any food poisoning I might have consumed. So I went to the one place I knew best. Fred Meyers. After walking with the masses inside the store for a while I felt safe enough to be home and so I went. Arrived home and felt a bit parched and made some tea. Looked in the kitchen and saw no sugar. So I sweetened it up with some artificial sweetener. Now not only do I have food poisoning but also man made chemicals sweeping through my body. What a wonder full day.

And here is the affects of the toxins running though my body- a very well manerd mustache.

Day Hike

This is Deer Mountain. Highest point is 3001 feet.
This is an over view off of Deer Mountain.

A moth that Jamie found.
Here we are about 1000 feet up. You can see Penic Island, the open Ocean, and Prince Rupert Island.

We had to stop about 2,500 feet up because there was to much snow and we couldn't see the trail.
Here is Ketchikan from Deer Mountain. Can you see my house?
There is Jamie, he is my artist friend. He came here from L.A. with $50 in his pocket and is trying to make a living off of his paintings. There he is sketching Gen and I looking over the mountain.

And finally the moment you all have been waiting for.... A Picture of Gen! Well there is Gen. Keeping the fire going so we can get the bugs away from attacking us.

My side job inside my real job

It is my job to stand in a tower and take pictures of the zippers.... For 8 hours a day... No brake ether.
This camera cost the company $500,000 and they cant get it to work... Shows what type of people I work under.
So for 8 hours a day I am connected to a tree and about 150 feet on a platform taking pictures. I felt like a caged animal.
Being up there for so long though you get some visitors. This Stellers Jay came really close to me a few times.

Eagles were flying around all day and this one perched itself on top of a crane.

Yes even a Bear came to see me. Funny how I was the trapped animal and the animals can move... Well this is just a way for me to get more hours, but it is not comfortable and I need to talk to management about getting me a seat up there... Or maybe they dont know how to work one of those ether. I still do tours and enjoy doing tours a lot more then "The Tower".

The Reason I Came Up Here To Alaska

I finally had a day off and it was a nice day! so what did I decide to do? How does a plane ride sound?

I was able to sit in shotgun that was great.
Every one in Alaska has some sort of bad facial hair so I thought I could blend right in.
Here we are in take off.

Some of the sights from the air.
About 10,000 years ago this was all glacier. that is what formed the ridges here.
Here is the Alaska that you all see in the movies. this is my back yard.

We hit a small snow storm.

We landed in a lake and was able to get outside.
Me out in the middle of no where Alaska... The best.

The green is all old logging roads. they didn't up keep it so now the red alders are growing. if you want to know more about red alders you have to go on my tour.
Here we have a old volcano. this is the cor of it and now it is hosting a nest to some Bald Eagles. you might be able to zoom into it look about 10 or 11 on the core and you could see an eagle.
Small little cruse ship.

There is a princess cruse ship and my house in the distance.

There is some of Ketchikan on the other side. as well as Gens old house. Gen by the way is my girl friend.
But the real reason i came to Alaska is for this. Two lbs of Jelly Beans that cost me an arm and a leg. But they taste so good.
